Autumnal Wedding at William Allen Farm
Cool breezes, colorful trees, and rustic farmhouse buildings are hallmarks of a classic New England fall. For Lauren and Brett’s October Maine wedding, we headed to William Allen Farm to create the most beautiful seasonal celebration, complete with touches of fall decor and subtle colors to enhance that warm and cozy feeling you can only get in the fall!
An unforgettable maine wedding
Surrounded by the changing orange, red, and yellow leaves and blanketed in crisp, breezy weather, Lauren and Brett’s celebration created a cheerful, warm, and welcome atmosphere for everyone. While rain threatened the day, it held off for the couple to capture forever moments and celebrate their perfect day. The flowers from Broadturn Farm provided just the right touch to the other decor provided by One Stop Events and Heartwood Essentials. The magical lights hanging throughout the venue created a romantic feel straight from a fantasy. After a delicious meal from Dandelion and inventive cocktails from the Bar Association, everyone danced the night away to Double Platinum Celebrations.
Meet the couple
How did you and your partner meet?
We're neighbors! At the time we were living about 15 houses away from each other in a townhome community in Atlanta, and one summer a few of us met at the pool. I was taken at the time, but the next summer when I was no longer seeing that person, we reconnected over Memorial Day weekend at the pool again, and the rest is history!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
There was a little bit of time where just the bridal party was outside - this was after the guests had gone inside the barn for dinner and before our introductions. Most of the bridal party was milling around talking, but I took the opportunity to pause and grab my husband to enjoy the way the lawn outside looked - beautifully illuminated with our cafe lighting strung between the big Maple tree and the barn, serene and exactly the way I had hoped it would be. We ended up having a photo of us taken hanging out at one of the cocktail tables, but it was the first time that day where I could truly soak in the fact that we were finally married, that Mother Nature has blessed us with clearing the rain, and that we were so lucky to have our friends and family fly to Maine from all over the country to celebrate our marriage. It really was an awesome moment.
Favorite part about having a coordinator from PMP :) ?
Peace of mind. The last couple of months before the wedding were pretty stressful between balancing my demanding job and the remaining details for the wedding, but as soon as our coordinator became involved, it was a HUGE weight off my shoulders. She really was key with contacting all of our vendors to confirm details and I don't think I could've made it through the day without her and her assistant making sure our vision came to fruition. Everything went seamlessly. I seriously don't think our day would've been as perfect as it was without our coordinator doing her amazing work!
