Romantic Fall Wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport
There’s nothing like a New England autumn. From the changing leaves to the crisp, cool breeze, the season brings warmth, comfort, and romance - creating a perfect time for a wedding! Gabrielle and Christopher’s fall wedding at the Colony Hotel was all of that and more. The clouds may have covered most of the day, but it was a beautiful, joyful celebration full of happy tears and a good time.
An oceanfront celebration
The Colony’s waterfront location was the perfect spot for Gabrielle and Christopher to declare their love for each other. This Kennebunkport’s historic setting provided the perfect backdrop for the vintage and classic touches of the decor supplied by A Family Affair and Peak Event Services. The Watershed Floral arrangements throughout the venue and ceremony created a romantic feeling and added the perfect detail for a perfect couple!

How did you and your partner meet?

Chris was the first person Gabrielle messaged when she joined “Plenty of Fish” back in 2013. Three months later, Chris responded to Gabrielle’s message and a first date was set. It had been snowing for hours by the time we were scheduled to meet, the Wednesday night before Christmas. Gabrielle tried to cancel, claiming the snow made it too difficult to make it to drinks at Russell House Tavern in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Chris didn’t let her off the hook (“it’s December in New England after all”) and so the date was on. It was the best first date either of them had ever had, lasting over three-and-a-half-hours!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
We have a few! First, when we got to see each other for the first time during our first look and headed to the beach for photos. We were so happy just to be with each other, and even happier when the sun came out just in time for our portraits. We felt like it was a dream (it had been raining the whole day/night before!).
Second, our sand ceremony with Charlie, Chris' son (and my step-son). It was a beautiful way for us to solidify and celebrate our family. Last, celebrating our love with friends and family at the reception. It felt so special to have everyone we love in one place and honestly still feels like a dream!
Favorite part about having a coordinator from PMP :) ?
Our favorite part was not having to worry about anything on the day of the wedding. We felt we could just relax and be present in our day, knowing PMP was on board to take care of everything!
