A Classic Barn Wedding at Beech Hill Barn

We were so excited when Katelyn from Corporate Glitter asked us to help plan her dream wedding in Maine. Planning a wedding for a Boston blogger? How cool. Even cooler? Matt’s proposal was captured by Boston based photographer Annmarie Swift and published in the Knot. This girl has styleeee, so we just knew planning her barn wedding in Maine was going to be fun.

Q&A with the bride, Katelyn

1)  How did you and your husband meet?

Matt and I met right before high school through a mutual friend. I always had a little crush on him but we only saw each other here and there - bumping into one another at friends houses over the summer during high school and college (yes - 8 years!). It wasn't until I moved home after college graduation that we really reconnected - right place, right time! We were at a going-away party for a friend of ours who was in the military - he kissed me for the first time that night we we've never looked back!

2)  What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

How can I choose just one?! I am so glad Matt and I did a "first look". It helped calm my nerves to see him before the ceremony. I also loved when the DJ really *turned it up* for the last hour or so of the night, and every single person was on the dance floor going crazy. When he played "Piano Man" by Billy Joel, we all formed a circle and sang along... It was such an amazing feeling looking out and seeing all our family and friends together, laughing, and having a good time. I wouldn't have changed a thing!

3) What was your favorite part about having a wedding planner?

EVERYTHING! As involved as I was in planning and setting up, there was only so much I could do the day of. Christina really took charge and everything went so smoothly. I remember walking into the barn during cocktail hour (before anyone else had been let in) and seeing it all set up and ready for our guests. It was exactly how I had envisioned it, and then some - my dream come to life! From making sure all of my decorations were in the right spot, to coordinating all our vendors and making sure we stayed on schedule - Christina handled all of the behind-the-scenes details flawlessly. I would 100% recommend hiring a planner and/or day-of coordinator. It was one of the best investments we made and really helped to ease our minds the day of so that we could focus on enjoying ourselves :)

Helping to plan this classic barn wedding was such a joy. The couple's style is impeccable, their vision was elevated, and most of all their love for each other is out of this world obvious. We are honored that Katelyn and Matt trusted us to help plan their wedding, and thankful for all of the wedding vendors that helped make this dream wedding a reality.
