Picturesque Blue Hue Brick South Wedding
Lexi and Randy’s lovely beachside and downtown Portland wedding was one for the ages. It was all in the details for this couple, from the carefully chosen beautiful rings and cuff links to the hues of blue throughout the day.
A picturesque beachside ceremony
For the ceremony, we headed to Southern Maine Community College’s campus, where there are breathtaking ocean views and a lighthouse point. The lovely couple declared their love for everyone with the waves crashing in the background, and everyone went down to the sandy beach to celebrate.
A true portland celebration
The party moved to Portland, where the reception was set up at Brick South, a great venue with rustic brick walls and wood and steel beams. The food from White Apron was delicious, and everyone danced the night away on a packed dance floor. It was a night to remember!
Meet the couple: Lexi & Randy
How did you and your husband meet?
My first memory of Randy is from the first month of law school. I was signing up to join the Texas Business Law Society and he was manning the sign up table. I distinctly remember the Houston Rockets hat he was wearing and thinking, “Okay so there are some cute boys in law school!” Randy doesn’t remember this meeting at all.
The next encounter was at a Halloween party, which I don’t remember, but in my drunken state I introduced myself to Randy and told him I had heard so much about him from one of my good friends that viewed him as a mentor. Following this meeting was an embarrassing encounter at a law school networking event when I introduced myself to Randy and he replied something along the lines of “Oh, we’ve met before, you were dressed like a bubblegum machine,” and I immediately found a way out of the conversation due to sheer embarrassment.
Finally, we really met and hits things off at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Someone at the party spilled red wine on Randy’s tan jacket and he looked a little down and I told him I had a trick that could likely get it out. About 20 minutes of rubbing ice cubes on his jacket, the stain was out and the sparks were flying! Randy then offered to drive me and my friends downtown and decided to come out with us.
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Oh my goodness, this question is impossible! I loved the time getting ready with my girls. My emotions were a rollercoaster going from nervous to super excited and back and it was amazing to have my best friends there to share in all of the emotions with me and hold my hand through it all. I also loved our entire reception. Randy and I like to think of ourselves as the king and queen of the dance floor and wanted it to be open the whole time and with your help we were able to have a packed dance floor for the whole reception making our dreams come true.
Beyond this, I think my FAVORITE moment was walking down the aisle and meeting Randy. Walking down the beginning of the aisle by myself gave me a moment to really take everything in that we had worked so hard for for months and also personified our love in a post card-size image that I can carry in my memory forever. It was amazing to see our friends from all over sitting in one place, my parents so excited to walk me to the man of my dreams and the MAN OF MY DREAMS waiting for me, so ready to start our lives together. The moment was surreal and getting to the end of the aisle and meeting Randy there was the most emotionally overwhelming and satisfying moment ever! And it didn't hurt that it all looked SO beautiful!
Favorite part about having a coordinator :) ?
My favorite part of having a coordinator was the confidence boost and empowerment I felt in the decision making and planning process having a group of pros supporting me in every decision and every twist. Christina was available for every question, big or small, and helped me feel confident in my vendors and wedding day decisions because she gave honest and transparent recommendations and suggestions every step of the way. This was extremely helpful to me as I was planning a wedding in Maine from Texas and because I can be so indecisive. Christina and the PMP team helped me overcome the indecision and really gave me a strong touchpoint in Maine for any local needs we had while planning.
Because of Christina, I believe we had the best of the best team from the planning team to the florist to the photographer. Beyond this, on the day of the wedding, from my standpoint not a single thing went wrong because no issues were brought to me the whole day. I'm positive there were hiccups along the way, but Christina and the PMP team took care of EVERYTHING and I was able to enjoy the day and get lost in the moment with my husband, friends and family. And to top it all off, Christina is an absolutely amazing person - she has become a true friend that will be part of my life beyond our wedding day, and I couldn't ask for anything more in a coordinator.
