Peaks Island Summer Wedding at TEIA
Just two weeks after Kristina and Neil’s Peaks Island wedding, we were fortunate enough to be back at TEIA to celebrate Caroline and Matt! We love to see how two weddings hosted at the same venue can be designed uniquely to achieve a different atmosphere and style. hosting an ‘upscale picnic’ wedding
We absolutely loved designing Caroline and Matt’s Island Wedding! While chatting with our bride, Caroline, about her ideas for the wedding, she described her vision as an “upscale picnic”. How fun! Our main design element that helped to achieve this look was blue gingham. We were able to subtly infuse this print throughout the design elements in the venue; we used the blue gingham in ribbon for the seating chart, napkins from Dot & Army, and toppers for the cocktail tables. Honeysuckle Way curated the most beautiful seasonal flowers to bring in a pop of orange, which we think perfectly complemented the rest of the scheme by adding a feminine twist. To finish the evening in picnic-fashion, the couple subbed cake for pies from Little Marie - great choice!

How did you and your husband meet?
We met on a dating app here in DC! We met up for cocktails which turned into a long dinner. We enjoyed each other's company from the start and the rest is history! :)
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
It's hard to choose just one favorite memory! I loved taking the boat over to the venue with just Matt, my sister, and Matt's Best Man, Dan. It was really special to have that time together before the craziness of the ceremony and the reception!
Favorite part about having a wedding planner?
We were able to enjoy the time leading up to the wedding and our wedding day because we knew that you had everything under control! You're so organized and you remembered to bring up all of the details that we may have forgotten if it weren't for you. You were also supportive of our ideas and willing to do whatever it took to make them a reality. The best part was seeing everything come together! Everything was perfect.
